Tekken X Street Fighter isn’t officially dead, but it’s not coming out anytime soon.

Tekken series producer — and sometimes voice actor — Katsuhiro Harada revealed as much to GameSpot today.

In an interview with the site Harada said the game is “on hold for the moment.” Though he didn’t specify how long that might last. The producer cited the recent release of Street Fighter V and the upcoming release of Tekken 7 as factors in the decision.

“We don’t want to split these communities, so a good window in which to release Tekken x Street Fighter is something that’s become difficult recently,” he said.

Tekken X Street Fighter was announced in July of 2010, alongside a Capcom developed project called Street Fighter X Tekken. The pair of games were meant to include elements from their respective studios with characters from both series.

Street Fighter X Tekken did make it to market on multiple platforms in 2012. Mention of Bandai Namco helmed Tekken X Street Fighter, however, had almost entirely evaporated. Until now, that is.
